Fracked US gas game changer across the world

14th July 2017

The US will produce a fifth of the world's gas by 2022 and will account for nearly a half of the expected increase in output.

The forecast comes from the International Energy Agency, which said American liquefied gas would disrupt gas markets across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The surge in oil and gas from fracking in the US has caused carbon emissions to plunge as coal is abandoned as a fuel for power generation. However industry will take an increasing share of gas, said the report.
